Stephen J. Murin, 64, of Lincoln, formerly of Saginaw, passed away suddenly Thursday, February 23, 2017 at his winter residence in Davenport, FL. Steve was born October 2, 1952 in Saginaw Michigan to Stephen R. and Bonnie (Nelson) Murin. He was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Steve was honorably discharged from the US Army, October 10, 1974. He was in the 82nd Airborne division out of Fort Bragg, NC, specializing in parachute assault operations. He retired from General Motors in 1996, and enjoyed travelling throughout the United States. He also enjoyed golf, photography, and aviation. Steve was an active volunteer in the Give Kids the World Village which helps children with life-threatening illnesses and their families enjoy week long cost free vacations in Kissimmee, FL. Steve is survived by his sister Cari (Matt) Richardson, his niece Kirsten, and special cousins Mike and Pat Nelson, as well as many other special relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Bonnie Murin. The family would like to give a special thanks to Karen Dejonge, Village of La Casa De Sol, Davenport, FL for her assistance. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM.
