Daniel R. Whitman

Daniel Robert Whitman, 77, of Barton City, MI, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region Hospital in Bay City. Born December 25, 1939 to Leroy D. and Catherine M. (Bush) Whitman in Detroit, he was raised in Warren. Dan was a longtime resident of the Detroit area, and worked with the Local 357 as a union glazier. He retired after forty years and moved to Barton City. Dan was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a NASCAR fan, and enjoyed motorcycles. He was a member of the Barton City Eagles Aerie 4141. Dan is survived by two daughters, June (Mike) Marcotullio of Madison Heights, MI, and Susan (Don Calvin) Whitman of Metamora, MI, one son, Danny Whitman of Madison Heights, MI, seven grandchildren, Melissa (Blake) Lawson; Ryan Whitman; Kayla Pickles; Angelo Marcotullio; Leah Marcotullio; Rosie Marcotullio; and Judy Whitman, seven great grandchildren, one brother, Lee (Betty) Whitman of Lewiston, MI, as well as his dear companion, Marlene Anderson. Friends may call on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. until the Memorial Service at 1:00 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. Rev. Christina Bright will officiate.
