Albert Menter,79,Mikado, died August 11, 2009 at the Alpena Regional Medical Center. He was born March 29, 1930 in Mt. Clemens to Albert and Grace (Priehs) Menter. Raised in Mt. Clemens, he served in the Army during the Korean War, and was employed by Ernst Fuel and supply of Inkster for over thirty years as a gravel train operator. A Mikado resident since 1996, he was a member of the Mikado Legion Post 254 and the Sunrise Moose Lodge #2529. Survivors include an uncle, Harvey Kuester of Lennox;Seven Nieces;eight nephews including Okey (Mary Lou) Hamrick of Mt. Clemens, who was like a son to him; several great nieces and great nephews and his special friend Mary Kirby. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Henrietta Gale, Geraldine Collins, Christina Amerine, Patricia Sustrick and Alberta Conklin and two brothers, Frederick and Leo. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. His cremated ashes will be interred with full military honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, on September 11, 2009 at 1:00 P.M..
