Burt Ostby

Burt A. Ostby, 74, of Mikado died Wed., May 3, 2006 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Born on October 8, 1931 to Bernard and Alice (Olson) Ostby, in Emmons, Minnesota, he was raised in Detroit, where he was a long time resident. Burt was an appliance repair supervisor with Sears, and was involved with the minor league baseball system in Detroit. He moved to Mikado in 1973. He was a member of the Alcona Armature Radio Club, and of the Weather Spotters. Survivors include three daughters, Lynda(Greg) Keck of Red Vale Colorado, Sandra(John) MacFarlane of Centennial CO, and Karen(Dave) Johns of New Baltimore;Five sons, Steve (Kathleen)of Mt. Morris, Craig (Becky) of Burton, James of Central Lake and Richard of New Baltimore and 20 grandchildren. Friends may call from 11 A.M. Sunday until the funeral at 2 P.M at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Rev. Larry Richmond will officiate. Burial will be in Springport Cemetery, Harrisville.
