Eloise Lorraine Crannie, 73, of Mikado, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Saginaw St. Mary’s. Born February 1, 1943 to Wesley and Eloise (Hittle) Alexander in Port Huron, Ohio, she was raised in Burton. On February 7, 1959, she married Daniel Crannie in Flint. They were longtime residents of Flint, where Lorraine worked in quality control for Hougen Manufacturing. In 2000, they retired to Mikado. She was an active member of Solid Rock Church of God, where she served as bookkeeper and as part of the ladies ministry. She loved quilting, and made quilts for each family member. Lorraine was an avid bird watcher, and enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and attending car shows. Lorraine is survived by her husband, Daniel, three children, Daniel (Rae) Crannie Jr.; Terri (Paul) Crannie; and Christine (Mark) Zimmerman, seven grandchildren, Christopher (Sasha) Cole; Kayla Crannie; Amanda Green; Danielle (Wes) Crannie; Jeremiah Richardson; Rachel Reznick; and Brett Chittick, five great grandchildren, Austin Cole; Aubrey Cole; Michael Verrier; Christian Hansen; and Danika Hansen, her mother, Eloise Alexander, two sisters, Janet Caldwell, and Trevena (Brian) Sheets, and two brothers, Jerry (Sharon) Alexander, and Donald (Carol) Alexander, and well as her dear friends, the Ward family. She was preceded in death by her father, Wesley Alexander, her son, James Crannie, her sister, Jane (Lawrence) McLain, her brother, Butch (Wes) Alexander, and her good friend Irven Ward. Mrs. Crannie is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Thursday, January 26, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday, January 27, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Edward Morrison will officiate. Burial will be in the Mikado Cemetery, in the spring.
