Florence Mae (DeRosia) LaForge, 95, of Harrisville, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at Tendercare, Alpena. Born January 26, 1921 to Frank and Bessie (Mathews) DeRosia in Ossineke, MI, she was a lifelong resident of the area. On October 2, 1971, she married Courtney LaForge, and they were residents of Harrisville. She worked at Harrisville Tool and Lincoln Haven before opening LaForge Adult Foster Care. Florence was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Glennie. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, gardening, and made the best pies. She was a hardworking woman, with a heart of gold. She is survived by eleven children; Ruth Truman of Harrisville, Henry (Judy) Leeseberg of Hermansville, Janice (Pete) Frachey of Clio, Don (Marion) Leeseberg of Flushing, Sharon Ginder of Harrisville, Warren (Gail) Leeseberg of Harrisville, Karen (Ed) Johnson of Sanford, Everett (Marge) Leeseberg of Glennie, Gary (Cindy) Leeseberg of Harrisville, Debbie (Mickey) Godzor of Eagle River, Alaska, and Sandy (Tim) Hall of Jackson, one daughter-in-law, Sharon Leeseberg of Mikado, 163 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, three stepsons, Jerry (Madelyn), Dennis (Mattie), and Jim (Diane) LaForge, one step daughter in law, Marilyn LaForge, and one sister Margaret Onwella of Lake Orion. She was preceded in death by her first husband Henry Leeseberg, her second husband Courtney LaForge, her son, Elmer Leeseberg, her step son, Terry LaForge, and her son-in-law, Harold Truman. Burial will be in the Sanborn Township Cemetery, Ossineke Michigan. Private graveside services will be held. Arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
