Harold Lee, 95, of Maryville TN, formerly of Mikado, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 at Shannondale of Maryville. Born February 25, 1921, to Harry and Gertrude (McGillis) Lee in Mikado, he was a longtime resident of the area. Harold served in the U.S. Army during WWII, fighting battles in Okinawa and the Philippines. On June 28, 1952, he married Agnes Hackett. They were residents of Lincoln and Mikado, moving to Alpena in 2008. Harold was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Lincoln, and was very involved in the church’s activities. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Harold is survived by three sons, Kim (Carmie) Lee of Maryville, TN; Dennis (Ann) Hayes of Watertown, SD; and Derril (Allaire) Hayes of Corona, CA, 17 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren, and one sister, Verna Kuenzli. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes on December 20, 2009, two daughters, Maurine “Susie” Hayes, and Jean Schmidt, one son, Garry Hayes, and three brothers, Van; Gerald; and Alvie Lee. Mr. Lee is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 3:00 until 6:00 P.M. The funeral service will be at 6:30 PM on Thursday at the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Private Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln.
