Victor J. DeMeulenaere, 65,of Mikado,passed away Friday, April 21, 2006 in Harrisville. Born on July 2, 1940, to Joseph and June (Benner) Demeulenaere in Detroit, he was raised in Hazel Park. He was a truck driver with the Ford Motor Company for thirty years, retiring in 1996. On September 9, 1961, he married Phyllis Cunningham in Hazel Park. They were residents of Hazel Park, moving to Troy in 1967, to Clinton Township in 1987, then moving to Mikado in 1996. Vic was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, and served as Vice President of the Parish Council. He was also a member of the Promise Keepers. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, 3 daughters; Diana (Bruce) Dancy of Macomb, Connie (Craig) Coon of Kimball, and Dawn (Dave) Sills of Rochester, 6 grandchildren; Kyle and Jessica Dancy, Jennifer, Matthew, and Ryan Coon, and Sophia Sills, and one sister; Donna (John) Blake of East China, MI. Mr. DeMeulenaere has been taken for cremation. His family will receive visitors from 6 until 9 pm, Friday, April 28, at the Gillies Funeral Home in Harrisville. Funeral Mass will be at 11 am Saturday, April 29, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Harrisville. Ashes will be interred at the St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery, Harrisville.
