Margaret Boelter

Margaret H. Boelter, 100 of Saginaw, formerly of Spruce, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 at St. Francis Home in Saginaw. Born December 28, 1915 to Albert and Alma (Gehrls) Henning in Saginaw, she was raised there. On June 12, 1937, she married George Boelter, and they were residents of Saginaw, moving to Zilwaukee in 1946. Margaret worked part time in sales at Wiechman’s Department Store in Saginaw, and was a devoted homemaker. In 1968, they moved to Cary, North Carolina, and in March of 1973 to Spruce (Hubbard Lake). Margaret was an active member of Spruce Lutheran Church, and of the Hubbard Lake Women’s Group. She had a talent for sewing, and enjoyed quilting and knitting as well. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Lynn (Robert) Bohnsack of Zilwaukee, and Sue (Dale) Ludwig of Clarkston, one son, Tom (Alicia) Boelter of Swartz Creek, her daughter-in-law, Barbara Boelter of Spruce, ten grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 18, 2007, her son, Robert Boelter on July 20, 2015, her infant granddaughter, and three brothers, Raymond; Albert; and Alvin Henning. Mrs. Boelter is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, November 3, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Spruce Lutheran Church. Rev. Leslie Nye will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spruce. Memorial donations are suggested to the Spruce Lutheran Church or to the Alcona Humane Society.
