Edith L. Lee, 90, of Tawas City, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at her home. She was born Edith Tooze on April 1, 1926 in Barton City, MI. On September 15, 1945, she married Alvie Lee in Lincoln. They were residents of Mikado, Oscoda, and Tawas. Edith worked as secretary in civil service at Wurtsmith Air Force Base, and at the County Line School. She was a wonderful baker, and enjoyed sewing and quilting. Edith was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Lincoln, and was one of the members who helped to build the church. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, and was active with Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Edith and Alvie enjoyed winters in Arizona for fifteen years, and were avid card players. Edith is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Mike) Schraven of Oscoda, son-in-law, Bruce Hoffman of Cadillac, 6 grandchildren, Bruce (Darcy) Hoffman Jr.; Bob (Alyssa) Hoffman; Michelle (Kevin) Johnson; Emilie Demicoli; Paul Panzica; and Gina (Dan) Myles, 13 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, two sisters, Pearl Hildebrand and Millie Lee, and one brother, Bill Tooze. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie on January 2, 2105, her daughter, Marlene Hoffman in August 2016, and two brothers. Mrs. Lee is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, October 12, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Lincoln, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Adam Seelow will officiate. Burial will be in Mikado Cemetery.
