John Joseph Weiner

John J. Weiner, 62, of Lincoln, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009 at his home. Born June 12, 1947 to John and Dorothy (Goeschel) Weiner in Mt. Clemens, MI, he was raised in East Detroit. On October 27, 1993, he married Sherri VunCannon in Madison Heights, were they resided. In 1996, John retired from General Motors, and he and Sherri moved to Lincoln. An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved motorcycles. He loved his family, and enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. He is survived by his wife Sherri, two daughters; Delanena (Richard) Ormsby of Madison Heights, and Leilani Weiner of Madison Heights, one son; John (Nicolette) Weiner of Madison Heights, six grandchildren; Steven, Jessica, and Sara Ormsby, and Carl, Jim, and Breanna Weiner, one great granddaughter; Chloe Weiner, two sisters; Beverly Rejc of Roseville, and Joyce Ocelnik of Roseville, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Weiner is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 from 1 until 5 pm.
