William H. Munyon, 88, of Harrisville, passed away Monday, April 17, 2006 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital. Born August 26, 1927 to Adam and Ellen (Benjamin) Munyon in Kalkaska where he was raised. He resided in Fowlerville and Traverse City before serving in the Army during WWII, where he served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He returned to Kalkaska after he was discharged. William married Helen Mizer on July 3, 1957. He was employed as a prison camp guard for several years, and was employed as a timber cruiser with the US Forest Service from 1949 until 1979. He and Helen moved to Harrisville in 1964. After his retirement he enjoyed bee keeping at his home where he and Helen established a successful honey and bee supply business. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Mikado. He is survived by his wife, four daughters; Elaine Jasperse of West Virginia, Kay Theum of Houston Texas, Virginia (Milton) Pulford, of Cadillac, MI, and Jerri (Michael) Gilbert of Westford Massachusetts, two sons; Tom of Carthage Missouri, and Roy of Harrisville, 16 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Mr. Munyon is at the Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Thursday, April 20 from 2 until 5 pm, and from 7 until 9 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, April 21 at 12:00 until the funeral at 1 pm, at Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado. Rev. Tim Steiner and Rev. Larry Richmond will officiate. Burial will be in Mikado Cemetery.
