Douglas C. Price, 71, recently of Algonquin, IL, formerly of Williamston, MI, passed away in his sleep on August 6, 2016 at his summer home in Black River, MI. Born April 21, 1945 to Edgar and Adele (Glennie) Price in Flint, MI, Doug was raised in Lansing, MI. He graduated from St. Mary's High School. Doug served as a field medic in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was disabled as a result of his service. In 1973, Doug married Darlene Doyle and they resided in Williamston, MI for 40 years. Doug and Darlene enjoyed many years dividing their time between Williamston and Black River. Doug had a lengthy and successful career in real estate and land development. Various projects he completed in Williamston include Plymouth Landing, Meadowdale and Woodview subdivisions. He was a co-owner of Century 21 Traditions. Doug donated land to the public for development of the “Williamston Red Cedar Nature Preserve.” Doug, enjoyed MSU football and basketball, water sports, yard work, card games, as well as, entertaining family and friends. He was quick to laugh and remember good times. Doug was a founding member of "Honor For All" an organization that reaches out to veterans and promotes awareness of PTSD and suicide prevention. Doug is survived by his wife Darlene and daughter Tracy Price of Algonquin, IL. He also has five surviving sisters: Marie (Danny) Pappas; Carol (Max) Walasek; Margaret (Michael) Simunic; Denise (Mark) Zuhlke; and Sally Yeoman. Doug will be dearly missed by nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Phillip Price. A funeral Mass celebrating Doug's life will be held on Thursday, September 29th at 10 am at St. Mary's Cathedral, 219 Seymour Avenue, Lansing, MI. A luncheon will follow in the Parish Hall. Burial with full military honors will take place after the luncheon at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, in Augusta, MI 49012.
