James J. Szymaszek

James J. Szymaszek, 71, of Glennie, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at his home. He was born September 19, 1944 to Edward J. and Estelle (Domanski) Szymaszek in Detroit, MI. Jim was a longtime resident of Harper Woods MI. He worked as a teacher and specialized in audio visual technology for hospitals and other organizations. In 2004, he moved to Glennie, where he worked part time at the ACE Hardware. He was president of the Curtis Township Library, and editor of the Curtis Community News. He enjoyed the out of doors, and loved hunting. He is survived by his brother, Joseph (Lana) Szymaszek of Rochester Hills, one niece, Lana Jo Subastian, two nephews, Matt Szymaszek and Joe Romatz, and three great nephews, Max Subastian, and Logan and Gavin Szymaszek. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be announced later this summer.
