Arthur L. Thomas, 65, of Lincoln, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at his home. Born August 9, 1950 to Robert and Pamela (Capstraw) Thomas in Detroit, he was raised there. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Art was a longtime Roseville resident, where he worked as a truck driver. He moved to Lincoln in 1994. In 2002, he married Laura Armstrong. Art enjoyed spending time with his family, and walking in the woods. He is survived by his wife, Laura, three daughters Tonya (Jim) Horton of Kimball Twp. MI; Becky Thomas of Yale, MI; and Lorenda Thomas of Lincoln, three sons, Tim Thomas of Chesterfield MI; Shawn (Jen) Thomas of Algonac MI; and Bradford VanEffen of Cadillac, MI. ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers, Randall Thomas of MO, and Robert (Sue) Thomas of Richmond, MI, his father-in-law, Arnold (Rose Ann) Armstrong, and two sisters-in-law, Rita Hartwig, and Nancy Stoops. He was preceded in death by his son, Arthur Thomas II, his parents, and his mother-in-law, Marjorie Armstrong. Cremation arrangements have been made through Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Lincoln at 2:00 PM. Dr. Rev. Arie Van Brenk will officiate.
