Cynthia Ann “Cindi” Van Hurk, 55, of Lincoln, passed away Friday June 10, 2016 at Jamieson Nursing Home. Cindi was born February 21, 1961 to Richard and Janet (Wood) Chappel in Troy, Ohio. On May 9, 2000, she married John Van Hurk in Nashville Tennessee. They were residents of Lincoln. Cindi loved her job at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena. She loved to quilt, and take trips with her husband and her canine companion James. She was a member of the Alcona Quilt Trail Project. She is survived by her husband, John, stepdaughter, Kim (Luke) Laube of Lincoln, stepson, Keith (Jessie Daroczy) Van Hurk of Colorado Springs, CO, granddaughter, Taylor Laube of Lincoln, her mother, Janet Chappel of West Branch, her brother, Don (Janet) Chappel of Colorado Springs, CO, and her beloved pet James. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Chappel in 2013. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Private services have been held.
