Betty Elizabeth Chase

Betty Elizabeth Chase, 85, of Harrisville, passed away Friday, June 4, 2016 at Jamieson Nursing Home in Harrisville. Born December 13, 1930 to Walter Sr. and Annie (Vladu) Griffin, in Clarenceville, MI, she was raised in Southfield. She graduated Harrisville High School, and married Denton Chase on March 1, 1949. She worked for Harrisville Tool, and as a cook at the Harrisville Hotel. Betty was an avid doll collector, and was a member of the Northeast Michigan Doll Club. She made and designed dolls, and repaired them as well. Betty is survived by two daughters, Diana (Eugene) Skotzke of Spruce, and Susan (Arthur) Higgison of Muskegon, three sons, James Chase of Lincoln, Thomas (Delphine) Chase of Aiken SC, and David (Linda) Chase of Aiken SC, ten grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and one sister Virginia Clemens of Harrisville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denton, her son, Gordon Chase, one sister, and one brother. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 8, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM, at Gillies Funeral Home in Harrisville. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 9 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Rev.
