Barbara E. MacDonald

Barbara E. MacDonald, 74, of Hubbard Lake, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at MidMichigan Medical Center, Alpena. Born May 24, 1941, in Detroit, she was raised in Plymouth by her parents, Noah and Mary Pringle. She married Bruce MacDonald on June 26, 1959 in Livonia, where they were longtime residents. Barbara worked as a supervisor for Alexander Hamilton Life Insurance Company. She moved to Hubbard Lake 23 years ago. Barbara enjoyed playing cards with her friends, and was an avid bowler. She was a wonderful baker, and made the best oatmeal cookies. She will be remembered as being an extremely kind and respectful woman. Barbara is survived by her husband Bruce, her son Tim MacDonald of Northville, her daughter Sherri (Jeff) Bourque of Lyon Twp. her children Samantha and Thomas Bourque. Her daughter Darlene Stewart, her son Nicholas Stewart, as well as one great granddaughter Abigail. There will be a celebration of her life Saturday, May 21, 2016 beginning at 12:00 PM at Churchill Pointe Inn in Hubbard Lake. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
