Clare W. Bradley, “Mayor”, 77 of Port Ritchie FL, and Black River MI, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Alpena Regional Medical Center in Michigan. Born October 16, 1931 to John and Hazel (Hewett) Bradley in Pontiac MI, he was raised there and in Auburn Heights, MI. He served in the United States Navy, and worked as a Technical Engineer for General Motors. On June 8, 1962, he married Rose Anne Cowell in Pontiac. They were residents of Auburn Heights and Waterford MI. After retirement, they shared their time between Port Ritchie FL, and Black River MI. Clare loved his country and his family. He was a member of several veterans’ organizations in Michigan and in Florida. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife; Rose Anne, son; Kevin Bradley of Corpus Christi TX, sister; Sharon (Roger) Manning of Mesa Az, nieces; Lori Miller, Lisa Doerksen, and nephews; Tom and Tim Manning, ten “grandchildren”, as well as many aunts and uncles. Mr. Bradley is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 2 until 6 pm.
