Margaret E. Somers, 91 of Spruce, formerly of Flint, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006 in Barton City. Margaret was born in Maple City, Michigan, on November 15, 1914, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Yankee) Nemeskal. She moved to Flint as a young child. She married Gordon E. Somers on May 27, 1938. Mr. Somers preceded her in death on August 19, 1985. Margaret worked at A.C. Spark Plug for 10 years and for Dr. Bernard Steinman for many years. She moved to Spruce in 1972, and was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother and a wonderful homemaker. She is survived by two sons; Gary (Jane) of Fenton, and Jack (Connie) of Davison, three grandchildren; Jennifer (Richard) Pool of Ann Arbor, Todd (Kristina) Somers of Davison, and Corey Somers of Davison, five great grandchildren; Nathaniel, Matthew, and Gregory Pool, Abigail Somers, and Blake Somers, a sister; Catherine Davis of Spruce, a sister-in-law, Joyce Nemeskal, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Steven, sister, Josephine Crider, and brothers Don, William, and Charles Nemeskal. The family would like to thank Nancy Jagelewski, and her family, for their kindness and loving care. Mrs. Somers is at the Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Monday, April 3, from 1 pm until 3pm and from 5pm until 8pm. Visitation will continue at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Ossineke, on Tuesday, April 4, at 10am until the funeral mass at 11am, Father Stan Bereda officiating.
