Wanda Gray Peterson

Wanda Peterson, 83, of Harrisville, died Sunday May 3, 2009 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. She was born in Kingsport , TN to Arlie & Virginia (Hill) Gray on January 31, 1926. Raised in Newport TN and Loyal VA she graduated from High School in Loyal moving to Detroit in 1943.Wanda was employed by the Detroit News, was a bookkeeper for Great Lakes Greyhound and worked for Burroughs. She married David Peterson on December 7, 1957 in Wyandotte. They moved to Harrisville in 1988. Wanda enjoyed Ceramics, loved flowers, gardening, knitting and cooking. She was a former member of the Auxiliary to the Alcona Post 6466 V.F.W. Wanda is survived by her husband; David, her grandson; Michael A.L. Jones of Harrisville and her step daughter, Carol (Jon) Reinertsen of Kristiansand Norway. She proceeded in death by her son Michael L. Jones on December 12, 1999. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. The funeral will be on Thursday at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M., Rev. Edward Morrison officiating.
