Richard D. Kazmierczak, 87, of Lincoln, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Born January 21, 1929, to Benjamin and Marcella (Dombrowski) Kazmierczak in Hamtramck MI, he was raised there. Richard joined the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves in 1948, and became active duty in 1950. He was honorably discharged in 1952. On October 25, 1952, he married Rose Bielusiak in Detroit, where they resided until moving to Roseville. He was an active member of St. Angela’s Parish in Roseville, and was a member of the Usher’s Club, and a board member of the St. Angela’s Credit Union. Richard worked for General Motors in body design until he retired in 1988. They moved to Lincoln in 2013. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville, and enjoyed golfing, crossword puzzles, football, and especially Red Wing Hockey. He is survived by his wife, Rose, three children, Karen (David) Zawada of Alpena, Christopher (Amy) Kazmierczak of Alpena, and Robert (Cathy) Kazmierczak of Richmond, nine grandchildren, David and Melissa Zawada, Erica Burmann, Derek, Courtney, Carly, Mitchell, Mary and Emily Kazmierczak, one great grandson, David Michael Zawada, two brothers, Jerry and Eugene Kazmierczak, and his daughter-in-law, Nancy Meyers. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Kazmierczak on January 2, 2013. Mr. Kazmierczak died on the same day as his brother, George. Mr. Kazmierczak is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln where friends may call on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 12:00 PM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Rev. Robert Bissot will officiate.
