Mary Ellen Kossa, 75, of Lincoln, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 surrounded by her family and friends. Mary Ellen LeCuyer was born on May 16, 1940 in Lincoln to E.J. and Helen (Kearly) LeCuyer. In 1958 she married Ronald Kossa and lived throughout the United States and Japan during her husband’s 20 year Air Force career. Mary worked for Alcona Community Schools in both the elementary library and high school counseling office. She was beloved and respected by the countless lives that she touched. Mary also served as Treasurer for the Village of Lincoln for 30 years, a position which was also held by her grandfather, Peter LeCuyer. She was a member of St. Anne and St. Raphael Catholic Churches, and worked as church secretary at St. Anne’s. Surviving are her husband Ron; her daughter, Michelle (Robert Magee) Kossa; her son, Michael (Kelly) Kossa; her granddaughter, Jesica (fiancé Nick Bassett); her grandson Jacob; her brother, James (June) LeCuyer, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kossa is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where friends may call on Sunday, February 28, from 3:00 until 7:00 PM with a Parish Prayer Service at 5:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, February 29, from 10:00 until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Harrisville. Rev. Robert Bissot will officiate. Memorial donations are suggested to Alcona Humane Society or Hospice of Michigan.
