Daniel H. Bruske

Daniel Henry Bruske, 77, of Lincoln, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2016 in Traverse City, Mich. He was born October 26, 1938 to Henry and Stella (Koslowski) Bruske in Detroit, Mich. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in Detroit, Mich. in 1956. He owned of Weather-Guard Plumbing & Heating of Detroit, Mich. and Lincoln from 1970 until his retirement. On January 18, 1975 he married Barbara Buchanan in Detroit, Mich. Mr. Bruske was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville, the Alcona Knights of Columbus Council No. 4235, Alpena Assembly 485 Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, and the Harrisville Harbor Commission. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating, and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Bruske is survived by his wife, Barbara of Lincoln; four daughters, Marie (Russell) Adams of Margate, Fla., Catherine (Dwayne) Reynard of Cat Spring, Texas, Elizabeth (Adam) Brege of Lincoln, and Christine (Adam) Hitch of Spruce; one son, Stephen Bruske of Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Russell Adams Jr., Randall Adams and Ryland Adams, all of Margate, Fla., Rebecca Bruske of Ft. Myers, Fla., Hannah Brege, Ava Brege, Peter Brege, Nina Brege, and Michael Brege, all of Lincoln, and Daniel Hitch and Elliott Hitch, both of Spruce; three great granddaughters; one sister, Madelyn Ratcliffe of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and one brother, Thomas Bruske of Del Mar, Calif. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorene (Billis) Bruske; his parents; an infant son, Christopher Bruske; three sisters, Shirley Domin, Betty Douglas and Mary Jane Blau; and one brother, Robert Bruske. Mr. Bruske is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln where friends may call on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. with a Knights of Columbus Rosary Service at 7:00, followed by a Parish Prayer Service. Visitation will continue Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville.
