Donald C. Wysong, 78, of Mikado, formerly of Detroit and Taylor, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2016, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 18, 1937 to Claude Russell and Mary Lucille (Johnston) Wysong in Hamlin, West Virginia. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force. Upon discharge from the Air Force, he went to work for Cadillac Motors in Detroit, retiring in 1993. Don was a quiet and peaceful man, who was totally dedicated to his family. He was a friend to anyone who needed a friend. He loved to walk and watch sports on TV. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Don is survived by two sisters, Mary Jo Clifton of Brooksville, FL, and Deborah (Michael) London of Mikado, one brother, Richard (Patricia) Wysong of Newport, MI, two sisters-in-law, Mavis Wysong and Patricia Wysong of Macomb, MI, his dear friend, Jan Bode of Monroe, MI, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell “Tom” Wysong, Fred Wysong, and one brother-in-law, Clayton Clifton. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be held in the spring at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
