Erma E. Dellar, 92, of Lincoln, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Tendercare Alpena. Born January 12, 1917, to John A. and Ella M. (Wisser) Laub in Mikado, she was raised there. A lifelong resident of the area, she married Lawrence Dellar in Bay City on September 14, 1933. They owned and operated their own farm until 1968. In 1963 they started L & E Arctic Sales from their home, and operated the store in Lincoln until 1971. Lawrence preceded her in death on January 27, 1990. Erma was a lover of nature, and was an avid huntress and fly fisherwoman. She especially enjoyed catching frogs, and was an excellent morel hunter. Erma was a member of the Lincoln Chapter #184 Order of the Eastern Star in Michigan. Erma is survived by four daughters; Donna Jean (Al) Scully of Glennie, Marjorie Jane Patterson of Roscommon, Judith Ella Marie (Lowell) Potvin of Allen Park, and Joanne H. Higgins of Harrisville, one son; John “Jack” L. (Doris) Dellar of Harrisville, 17 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister; Beatrice Groters. Mrs. Dellar is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Friday, March 27, from 4 until 8 pm, with a #184 Order of the Eastern Star Service at 7pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 28 from 11 am until the Funeral Service at 2 pm. Rev. F. Laraine Sundin will officiate. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, later in the spring. Memorials suggested to Hospice of Michigan, or to the Alcona Humane Society.
