Charles Byce

Charles E. Byce III, age 64, 0f Barton City, passed away, Saturday, November 21, at the University Of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. Born January 3, 1951, to Dale and Elinor (Huffman) Byce in Alpena, he was raised in Lincoln, graduating from Alcona High School in 1969. Chuck was a onetime excavating business owner and a forester. A longtime resident of Barton City, he was a charter member of the Barton City Eagles, Aerie 4141. He is survived by his wife Stephanie Kay (Gipson), one daughter, Tara Heather Byce of Lincoln, two sons, Timothy James (Yvie) Byce of Lincoln and Andrew Mont (Patti) Byce of Midland, one sister, Marsha (Calvin)Mahalak of Barton City, eight grandchildren, Gage, Luke, Ramiro, Maycie, Connor, Madison, Alexis and Addison, and special cousins Mary Byce and Dane Elmore. His brother, Dale preceded him in death on May 29, 2014. Visitation is Tuesday November 24, 2015 from 4-8 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Rev. Richard Karsen Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln.
