Carol Jean Hamlett

Carol Jean Hamlett, 65, of Harrisville, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Saginaw St. Mary’s Hospital. Born June 24, 1950 to William and Lucille (Krey) Schroeder in Detroit, she was raised in Garden City, MI. On April 27, 1968 she married William Hamlett in Garden City, where they resided until moving to Wayne, and later to Westland. In 2004 they moved to Harrisville, where she enjoyed raising chickens. A devoted homemaker, Carol loved her family, and leaves behind many dear friends. She was a very social person, striking up a conversation as often as she could. Carol is survived by her husband, William, three children, Tom (Lisa) Hamlett of Kentucky, Gloria (Phil) Curia of Mikado, and Brian (Kim) Hamlett of Westland, six grandchildren, Tony Curia, Alex Malia, Emalie Wagner, and Ri, Austin, and Erin Hamlett, two great granddaughters, Emma and Eva Malia, her mother, Lucille Schroeder of Garden City, two sisters, Cheryl Schroeder of Garden City, and Bonnie Francis of Plymouth, two brothers, Gary Schroeder and Bill Schroeder of Garden City, as well as many nieces and nephews, and her special canine friend, “Patches”.
