William J. Mitchell

William J. Mitchell age 60 of Hubbard Lake, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Alpena Regional Medical Center. Born May 12, 1955 to John and Leah (Schiedel) Mitchell in Royal Oak, MI, he was raised in Clawson. Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1975. He grew up spending summers on Hubbard Lake, and moved there permanently after retiring from General Motors Truck and Coach in 2008. Bill was a member of the Hubbard Lake Improvement Association, the Hubbard Lake Citizens Watch, the Ossineke Eagles Aerie 3762, and of the American Legion Clawson Post 167. He is survived by two sisters, Sharon Thompson of Spruce and Carol (Chuck) Miknis of Battle Creek, one brother, John of Clawson and two nieces and three nephews. Memorial visitation will be Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorials suggested to Friends Together.
