Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Freeburger, 84, of Lincoln, formerly of Utica and Mt. Clemens, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Born March 17, 1931 to Henry and Helen (Diehl) Geoghegan in Swedesboro, New Jersey, she was raised in Woodstown. On June 15, 1974, she married Robert Freeburger in Utica, where they resided until moving to Lost Lake Woods Club in 1988. Betty was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Alpena. She was very involved in scouting, and was an avid bridge player. Betty enjoyed camping, travelling, trips to the beach, and shopping, but most of all, she enjoyed family gatherings. She is survived by her husband, Robert Herman Freeburger, 12 children, Patrice (Bobby) George, Kathy (Ron) Kerry, R. Bruce Freeburger, Ann (Joe) Taylor, Charlotte Sorge, Kurt (Anita) Freiburg, Barbara (Jerry) Winters, Gretchen (Dan) Hall, Peggy (Norm) Brohl, John (Ann) Taylor, Sarah Taylor, and Kristin (Bobby) Pfauth, 24 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her granddaughter, Kimberly Kerry. Mrs. Freeburger is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Sunday, September 6, from 3:00 until 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, September 7, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Alpena, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. The Very Rev. William J. McClure, Rector will officiate. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Memorial donations suggested to Trinity Episcopal Church, Alpena, or to Hospice of Michigan.
