James H. Pyne

James H. Pyne,79, of Harrisville, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Alpena Regional Medical Center in Alpena. Jim's career took him from farming to teaching and the auto industry, mainly in the Flint Area. A longtime Harrisville resident, Jim was active in many civic activities, including the Harrisville Lions, Alcona County Fair, Alcona Chamber of Commerce and the Harrisville Township Board. He was a member of the Harrisville United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy, his daughter, Karen (Stephen) McKown, his son, James M Pyne, three McKown grandchildren and two Pyne grandchildren' Visitation will be Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 4-8 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Visitation will continue Thursday at 10:00 A.M. until the funeral at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Harrisville. Rev. Mary Soderholm will officiate. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Harrisville. Memorials are suggested to Harrisville Lions Club, United Methodist Church, Harrisville or the Alcona County Fair.
