Alvina Mollie Wing

Alvina M. Wing, 93, 0f Lincoln, died Tuesday, Feb 3, 2009 at home. She was born March 28, 1915 in Bridgeport to William and Edna (Bartels) Shoemaker. Raised in Bridgeport Alvina married Howard Wing there on May 28, 1949. They moved to Lincoln in 1962 where they owned and operated a raspberry farm. Alvina was along time cook at the Lincoln Elementary School, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Ev. Lutheran Church of Lincoln. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1997. She is survived by four Daughters, Pamela (Rod) Harmon of Mantaque MI, Denise (Leo) Becker, of Defiance OH, Karla (Samuel) Harper of Lincoln and Ellen(Brian) Knight of Pryor Ok., six grand children and five great grandchildren and a brother William A.(Marie) Shoemaker of Bridgeport. Visitation will be Thursday at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln from 4 until 8 P.M. and on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral at 1 P.M. at the Trinity Ev.Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Rev. Michael Sheppard will officiate. Spring burial will be in Mt. Joy Cemetery, Haynes Township. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Michigan, Northeastern Region or Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lincoln.
