Constance Lee Stutzman

Constance L. Stutzman, 68, of Lincoln, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at her home. Born March 12, 1947 to Arnold and Shirley (Buckmaster) Cordes in Harrisville, she was a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated from Alcona Community Schools in 1965. Connie married John Stutzman on September 7, 1968 in Barton City, at Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Oscoda. Connie worked in the bookkeeping department at Alpena Savings Bank, and at Alcona Community Schools. She served as Gustin Township Treasurer, as the Village of Lincoln Clerk for 23 years, and on the Village of Lincoln Planning Commission. She also worked at Harrisville Tool, the Alcona County Commission on Aging, and for Northeast Redi Mix. She enjoyed bowling, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, children, and family members. She is survived by her husband, John, daughter, Karen (Gerald) Abee of Greenbush, son, Michael (Jamie) Stutzman of Lapeer, four grandchildren, Marcus Stutzman, and Matthew, Joshua, and Zachary Abee, brother, William (Susan) Cordes of Barton City, sister-in-law, Brenda Cordes of Lincoln, brother-in-law, Robert Stutzman of Lincon, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rein and Betty Brueggeman of Seneca SC, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Sandra Godown, parents, Arnold and Shirley Cordes,father in law and mother in law John and Betty Stutzman, Grandparents, Ray Buckmaster and Eytoile Kucler, William and Elsie Cordes, and brother Arnie Ray Cordes. Mrs. Stutzman is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where friends may call on Monday, July 6, from 2:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Timothy Azaam will officiate. Memorial donations suggested to Hospice of Michigan, Trinity Lutheran Church in Oscoda, or to the memorial of your choice.
