Casmer Sierota, 90, of Lincoln, died Friday, January 23, 3009 at Lincoln Haven Rehabilitation and Nursing Community. Mr. Sierota was born July 11, 1918 in Haynes Township to Matthew and Antonina (Gniewek) Sierota. He was raised in Haynes and married Julia Ann Wojnar November 16, 1940. They made their home in Lincoln, where they raised their family. Casmer worked at Abitibi and retired after 27 years. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Alcona Council #4235, and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Alpena Assembly #0485. Mr. Sierota is survived by one daughter, Judy (William) Stone of Harrisville, one son, Fred (Peggy) Sierota of Sellersburg, Indiana; three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Timothy and Jeremy Sierota, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia on October 10, 2008, by his grandson Kenneth Stone, two brothers; Edward and Hank Sierota, and sisters; Blanche Andrews and Julie Tabaka. Friends may call from 2:00- 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. The 4th degree of the Knights of Columbus Alpena Assembly #0485 will stand Honor Guard on Sunday from 6:30 until 8:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be Monday, January 26, 2009, 11:00AM at St. Anne Catholic Church, Harrisville. Mr. Sierota will be buried in St. Anne Cemetery in the spring.
