R. Sylvia Michaud, 80, of Mikado, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015 at St. Mary’s of Saginaw. Born April 13, 1935 to D.C. and Ruby (Haywood) Pitts in Charleston South Carolina, she was raised there. On April 3, 1951, she married Lloyd Michaud in Charleston. His career in the U.S. Navy allowed them to live in many parts of the country, settling in Mikado in 1967, after his retirement. Sylvia was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado. She worked for many years at Harrisville Tool. She enjoyed bowling in the morning league, and attending meetings of the Friendship Club. She loved her flower gardens and watching the birds and other animals. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd, four daughters, Sylvia Gay (Richard) Weir of Port Charlotte, FL, Katherine Marie (Robert) Goddard of Harrisville, Brenda Margaret Fowler of Kalkaska, and Sharon Renee (Scott) Hiser of Orlando, Fl, one son, Lloyd Edward (Kimberly) Michaud Jr., of Farmington UT, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, one sister, Evelyn Seagraves of Goose Creek SC, one brother William (Linda) Pitts of North Charleston SC, and two sisters-in-law, Arden Basselman of Barton City, and Lilith Schwickert of Raliegh NC. She was preceded in death by six brothers, George Pendarvis, D.C. “Buddy” Pitts Jr., Carl Pitts, Harold Pitts, Raymond Pitts, and Norman Pitts, three sisters, May Knox, Vonita Fraizer, and June Brinson, and one son-in-law, Linton Fowler Sr. Mrs. Michaud is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Saturday, June 13, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM, and on Sunday, June 14 from 2:00 until the funeral service at 4:00 PM. Rev. Tim Steiner will officiate. Memorial donations suggested to the Alcona Humane Society.
