Barbara D. Tacia, 79, a 20 year resident of Hubbard Lake, passed away January 20, 2009 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Born January 10, 1930 to Robert and Dorothy Pepperell, in Birmingham, she was raised there. She was a devoted wife for 58 years to Floyd C. Tacia, whom she married on September 18, 1950. They were residents of Royal Oak. Barbara was a long time volunteer at Troy Beaumont Hospital in Troy, MI. She loved wintering in Tucson, Arizona, where she enjoyed square dancing and spending her summers on Hubbard Lake. She is survived by her husband Floyd, two sons; Ronald (Carol) Tacia, and Marvin (Gail) Tacia, three grandchildren; Steven (Tresana), Robert, and Jillian one great grandchild; Chance, and one sister; Roberta (Raymond) LaVoy. Cremation arrangements are in care of Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be held this spring, and internment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spruce, MI.
