Robert C. Wiedmaier

Robert C. Wiedmaier age 89 of Gustin Township, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 in Harrisville. Born February 7, 1926 to Frank and Ella (Gerke) Wiedmaier in Detroit, he was raised there. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On August 13, 1949, he married Irene O. Mayor in Detroit, where they resided. He worked as a firefighter for the City of Detroit until his retirement in 1979, when he moved to Gustin Township. He loved his land, and enjoyed the out of doors. He is survived by his daughter, Pat (Jeff Johnson) of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, his son, Russ (Carol) Wiedmaier of Novi, two grandsons, Tim Johnson and Paul Wiedmaier, and his dear friends Goldie Edwards of Harrisville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene on November 20, 2002, and by three brothers, Russell, Milt and Frank Wiedmaier. Mr. Wiedmaier is at Gillies Funeral Home in Harrisville, where friends may call on Saturday, April 18, from 10:00 A.M. until the prayer service at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery later in the spring. There will be a Memorial Luncheon on April 25 in Novi, details will be announced.
