Winston Bryce Reeves

Winston Bryce Reeves, 87, of Barton City, died April 7, 2015, at Alpena Regional Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Alcona County, born in Curran on September 18, 1927 to Ralph & Helen (Pattee) Reeves. He was raised in Curran, served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1948, and after he was discharged he returned to Curran and married Marjorie E. Harmon on August 20, 1949. She preceded him in death on March 13, 2015. Mr. Reeves was a towerman-fire officer for the Michigan DNR and retired in 1984, after 33 years of service. Mr. Reeves was a member of Sunnyside and Lincoln United Methodist Churches, a charter member of Burger-Wiedbrauk VFW Post #8135, in Barton City, and loved to spend his free time farming. Mr. Reeves is survived by his daughter Wendy (Dan) Richardson of Barton City, and son, Winston A. Reeves, of Harrisville, his sister Marjorie (Forrest) Rhoades of Luzern, his brother Vance (Elaine) Reeves of Alpena, six grandchildren; Janette Richardson (Fred) Stover of Lincoln, Rachel (James) Tallant of Dundee, Heather (Allen) Rudolph of St. Clair Shores, Dan E. Richardson of Sterling Heights, Winston A.Reeves II, of Pittsburgh and Desmond Reeves of Marquette. He also is survived by four great grandchildren; Jenna Richardson of Mikado, Grace and Samuel Rudolph of St. Clair Shores, and Quinlan Richardson of Sterling Heights. Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Reeves is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln where visitation will be Friday April 10, 2015 from 4-8:00 P.M. and Saturday April 11, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral service at 1:00 P.M., with Rev. Mary Brown officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Burger Wiedbrauk Post #8135 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Barton City, Later in the Spring.
