Roy M. White, 73, of Spruce, formerly of Flint passed away Sunday, December 14, 2008. Born December 10, 1935 to Guy and Vera (Bronson) White in Flint, he was raised there. He proudly served as a deputy with the Genesee County Sheriff Department. On April 6, 1956, he married Jamie Sue Jackson in Flint. In 1987, Roy retired, and they moved to Spruce. Roy served 5 years with the Alcona County Sheriff Department before illness prevented him from working. An avid outdoorsman, Roy enjoyed hunting. An animal lover, he had a special place in his heart for his horses and his cats. He is survived by his wife, Jamie Sue, 2 daughters; Peggy (Ben) Cripps of Grand Blanc, and Diana White of Spruce, one son; Jim (Teri) White of Burton, 3 grandchildren; Stephanie (Erik) Norman, and Catie and Christopher White, one great grandson; Noah Norman, one sister; Eileen (Vern) Herrick of Clio, two dear friends Nancy Beck and Matt Strickland, and his special horses and cats. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Visitation will be at the White’s home at 5470 N. School Road, Spruce MI, 48762 on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 from 11 am until 4pm, when a brief committal service will be held. Arrangements made by Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
