Wilma E Unger, 94, of Harrisville, MI, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at her home. She was born in Mt. Morris, MI on October 4, 1920 to Hugh and Francis Green. On February 24, 1940, she married John Unger of Linden, and lived in the Fenton area. A devoted homemaker, Wilma worked for General Motors in Pontiac during WWII, for Hazelton-Perkins in Fenton; the Fenton Independent Newspaper; the Grand Blanc Credit Union and was the Director and Teacher of the Summer Handy Craft Program at the Fenton School System. She enjoyed many talents and hobbies and travelled extensively with her husband. Wilma was a member of the Fenton Flower Arrangement Club, the Fenton Sewing Club, the Modern Pioneer Camping Club, and a charter member of the Flint Doll Club. She was a former member of the Fenton Methodist Church. In 1999, Wilma moved to Harrisville. She was a member of the Harrisville United Methodist Church, and enjoyed boating. She enjoyed painting, and a variety of needlepoint and crafts, entering items in the Alcona Fair where she had won several Blue Ribbons. Wilma is survived by two daughters, Judy C. (James) Pyne of Harrisville, Kathleen A. (Barry) Bare of Kalkaska, one son Jack L. Unger of Fenton, six grandchildren, James Pyne, Karen (Pyne) McKown, Eric Bare, Barry Bare, Lara Unger Syrigos, and Paul Unger, eleven great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and one sister, Doris German. She was preceded in death by her husband, on June 1, 1990, two sisters, Bernice Long and Marjory Norris, and one brother, JC Green. Mrs. Unger is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Friday, March 27, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 28 at the Harrisville United Methodist Church from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Mary Soderholm will officiate. Graveside service will be Monday, March 30, at 1:00 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery in Fenton. Memorial Donations suggested to the Harrisville United Methodist Church.
