Ted E. Kruttlin, 91, of Harrisville, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center in Sebring, Florida. Born May 4, 1923 to Emil and Bertha (Jorai) Kruttlin in Curran, MI, he was raised there. Ted served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre. On January 29, 1947, he married Kelly Cuyler and they were residents of Harrisville. Ted has owned and operated Alcona Motors since 1947. He was a member of the Michigan Automobile Dealers Association and of the National Automobile Dealers Association. Ted was very involved in his community. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville, and of the Knights of Columbus Alcona Council #4235. He was a charter member of the VFW Alcona Post #4235, the Lincoln Industrial Corporation, and of the Harrisville Lions club. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, and the Detroit Tigers. He is survived by his wife, Kelly, two daughters, KiAnn Kruttlin of Harrisville, and Tina (Thomas) Dewar of Colorado Springs CO, two sons, Dennis (Debra) Kruttlin of Lincoln, and Teddy Kruttlin of Harrisville, seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ryan Jacewicz) Kruttlin, Sarah (Edward) Hechlik, Jonathan (Jessica) Kruttlin, Kyle (Lianna Mulka) Kruttlin, Keegan Kruttlin, Michael Dewar, and Cuyler Dewar, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille Medor, Ethel Oles, and Ruth James, and four brothers, Emil C. II, Herman, Emil C. III, and Bill Kruttlin. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Memorial Donations suggested to the Harrisville Lions Club.
