Margaret Synk

Margaret Z. Synk age 80 of Lost Lake Woods Club (Lincoln) passed away Tuesday at Alpena Regional Medical Center. She was born June 10, 1934 in Detroit to Joseph and Emily (Gniewek) Zajkowski. She married Ben Synk on December 26, 1966 in Detroit. They were longtime residents of Southfield, moving to Lost Lake Woods Club in 1995, where they have been members for 40 years. Margaret was a former secretary for Chrysler. She was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Ossineke. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren, traveling, skiing, Tennis, golf and bridge. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Polly (James Curran) Synk, (grandchildren Liam, Sean and Tara) of East Lansing, and Emily (Robert Manning) Synk (grandchildren Alexander and William) of Boston, her sister, Mary (James) Murphy of Westland and brother Joseph (late sister in law, Marion)Zajkowski of Livonia. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Anna (Husband Tony) Panter, Theresa (husband Hank)Losek and Shirley Zajkowski. Memorial visitation will take place on Friday March 20, 2015 from 5 - 9:00 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Visitation continues Saturday, March 21, from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Ossineke. Rev. Robert Bissot will officiate. Memorials are suggested to St. Bernard’s Friendship Room, Alpena. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln.
