Franklin L. Myers, 81, of Barton City, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw. Born February 12, 1934 to Floyd and Emma (Humm) Myers in Regina, Saskatchewan, he was raised in Detroit. On June 9, 1956, he married Velma Scott in Detroit, where Frank worked as a delivery man for Canada Dry. In 1969, they moved to Barton City, where they owned and operated Paradise Cottages. Frank worked for the Alcona County Road Commission until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lincoln, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Frank was mechanically inclined, and loved working on motors, and engines. He is survived by his wife, Velma, one daughter, Denise (Lee) Devers of Westland, three sons, Tom (Dorty) of Garden City; Floyd (Debbie) of Rapid City SD; and Keith (Joan) Myers of Barton City, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, John E. Myers in 1968, three sisters, and one brother. Friends may call on Saturday, March 7, from 12:00 PM until the memorial service at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Lincoln. Rev. Arie Van Brenk will officiate.
