Carole "Toby" Jean Johnston

Carole J. “Toby” Johnston, 67, of Harrisville, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at her home. Born June 8, 1947 to Bruce and Arlene (Haynes) Ferguson in Harrisville, Carole has been a lifelong resident of the area. On October 22, 1966, she married G. Michael Johnston in Harrisville. Carole was a devoted homemaker, who loved to cook and host family events. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In 1988, she became Harrisville Township Treasurer, a position she held for 26 years. She is survived by her husband Mike, two sons, Craig (Chol) Johnston of Harrisville, and Tim (Laura) Johnston of Oscoda, six grandchildren, Emma Grace, Hayden, Sam, Ben, Elizabeth, and Reagan Johnston, and two sisters, Jane (Peter) Tracy of Boca Raton, FL, and Mary (Bert) Utter of Melvin. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. Rev. Tim Steiner officiated. Burial was in Springport Cemetery.
