Lonnie D. Allen

Lonnie D. Allen, 64, of Glennie, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at his home. Born November 3, 1950, to Bernard and Donna (Cushion) Allen in Lansing, MI, he was raised there. Lonnie graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1968, where he lettered in wrestling. He was a longtime Lansing resident, where he worked at the post office, and as a tree trimmer for the City of Lansing. On March 13, 1987, he married Beth Bundy in Harrisville, where they lived until moving to Oscoda, and later to Glennie where they owned and operated the Chat N Chew restaurant. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially taking care of his lawn, and long walks in the woods and on the beach with his dogs. Lonnie is survived by his wife, Beth, two daughters, Dianne White and her family, and Kathleen Shaw, three grandchildren, Kallan McCutcheon, and Connor and Aiden Shaw, one brother, Scott (Cindy) Allen, sister-in-law, Charlotte Allen, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his dear cousin and caregiver, Mark White. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Barry Allen. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be held in Lansing in the future.
