Grace Avalon Rapson

Grace Avalon (Boyd) Rapson, age 89, of Mikado, died January 16, 2015 at Jamieson Nursing Home in Harrisville. Grace was born October 20, 1925 in Harper Woods MI, to Lyman and Beulah (Preston) Boyd. She married Lawrence Earl Rapson on October 25, 1941 in Warren, where they were long time residents before retiring to Mikado in 1979. Grace was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Warren. After retiring to Mikado, she became a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado. Grace is survived by her siblings, Frank (Katherine) Boyd of Mikado; Lois Baker of Mikado; Betty Norman formerly of Warren, currently of Harrisville; and Gary (Betty) Boyd of Mikado, as well as her children Larry (Myong) Rapson of Warren; Sandra (Al) Campbell of Warren; Judy (Jim) Prell of Warren; Debra Zebari of Dearborn Heights; Rick (Ginny) Rapson of Sterling Heights, daughter-in-law, Dianna Rapson of Saint Clair Shores, 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence on January 8, 2009, her sons, Clyde and Danny Rapson, her brother Raymond Boyd and his wife Peggy, and her brothers-in-law, Jacob Baker and Jim Norman. Mrs. Rapson is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Sunday, January 18, from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Monday, January 19, from 12:00 P.M. until the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado. Rev. Tim Steiner will officiate.
