Larry James Byce

Larry J. Byce, 59, of Mikado passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at home. Born October 28, 1949 to James and Gina (Hill) Byce in Detroit, he was raised in Westland. Larry moved to Harrisville to run the family farm. He married Faye Byce on July 23, 1992, and they were residents of Mikado. Larry owned and operated the Greenbush Market. An avid outdoorsman, Larry enjoyed hunting and loved fishing. He was a member of the Sunrise Side Moose Lodge #2529 of Greenbush, the Ossineke Eagles Aerie #3762, and of the American Legion Post #254, Mikado, where he was member of the Honor Guard. He attended Solid Rock Church of God in Harrisville. Larry is survived by his wife, Faye, two daughters; Laura Dowell of Pennsylvania, and Jennifer Thebo of Arizona, three grandchildren; Jessica Dowell, Bryce and Taylor Thebo, two step children; Marta (Wayne) Nedo, and Greg (Teri) Good of Mikado, three step grandchildren; Dan, Doug, and Jenny Nedo, and special friend and cousin; Janet Unalp of Harrisville. Visitation is on Wednesday, November 19, from 3 until 9 pm at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, November 20 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Mikado Cemetery.
