Jean L. Sanborn, 82, of Barton City, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2006, in Mesquite Texas. Born on May 20, 1923, to Hiram and Lenna (Sharpe) Nettleton in Royal Oak, she was raised in the Detroit area and Bandon Or. On July 30, 1939, she married Jerome Sanborn in Barton City. They resided there, moving to the Detroit area and then returned to Barton City. They liked to travel, spending winters in Mesquite Texas. Jean was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado. She is survived by her husband, Jerome, a daughter Gail (Dan) Shepherd of Pagossa Springs CO, two sons, Charles (Priscilla) of Georgetown KY, and Craig (Andrea) of Mesquite TX, 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Mrs. Sanborn is at the Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Sunday, January 22, from 4 until 8 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, January 23, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado at 12 noon until the funeral at 2 PM, Rev. Timothy Steiner officiating. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Barton City.
