Frances A. Hickey (nee Rapson), 94, of Louisville Kentucky passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014. Born September 23, 1920 to Harry and Elsie (Humphrey) Rapson in Bad Axe, MI, she was raised there. In 1940, she married Lawrence Hickey in Bad Axe, and they were residents of Mikado, Ossineke, Barton City, and New Haven, MI. Lawrence preceded her in death in 1976. Frances lived in the Alpena area before moving to Louisville Kentucky. She was a devoted homemaker, and an excellent cook who made wonderful peanut butter cookies and scons. She enjoyed writing letters and spending time with her family. Frances was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Louisville. She is survived by her daughter, Etta Mae (George) Gawthrop of Louisville, KY, seven grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Elsie Rhode and Mary Ann Shelton Ritthaler, six brothers, and four sisters. Mrs. Hickey is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Marvin and Rev. Char McGuire will officiate. Burial will be in the Mikado Cemetery.
