Mary Ann Mahalak, 72, of Lincoln, passed away at her home Friday, Oct. 24, 2008. Mary Ann was born to Harry and Carrie (Conrad) Bugg on April 21, 1936 in Curran, MI and she was raised there. On June 1, 1957 she married Vincent Mahalak and moved to Lincoln. Mary Ann retired in 1998 from Alcona Community Schools where she was a cook in the elementary schools for 23 years. Mary Ann is survived by her sons; Vincent of Harrisville, Calvin (Marsha) and Brian (Debbie) of Barton City, and Todd (Dianna) Mahalak of Greenbush, three brothers; Everette (Dot) Bugg and Lisle (Betty) Bugg of Curran and George (Anne) Bugg of Waterford, three sisters; Jean Mendyka and Rose (Luke) Mahalak of Lincoln and Louise Indish of Gaines, MI, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.. She was preceded in death by her husband Vincent on Nov.1, 1971, a grandson, two sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be Sunday October 26, 2008, 2:00-8:00PM, and Monday 2:00-8:00PM at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 11:00AM until the funeral service at 2:00PM. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln, MI. In lieu of flowers memorials may be donated to March of Dimes or American Diabetes Association.
